Cell Services & Wi-Fi Access

Cell service ends once you reach the Kendall area. Some Verizon and T-Mobile users will find pockets of service on the way up to the mountain and in the town of Glacier. There is a cell phone tower at Mount Baker so service will be restored when you reach the Mt. Baker Ski Lodge.

To make Wi-Fi calls and access the internet without service, public Wi-Fi is available at the Mt Baker Visitor Center and at the Luxury Getaways office in Glacier, WA. The Visitor Center is directly across the street from Crossroads Grocery, and the Luxury Getaways office is in the center of Glacier.

How to Use Wi-Fi Calling

Android

Once you have reached your lodging destination, you can send texts and make calls over Wi-Fi. Go to Settings, find the phone icon labeled "call," and toggle on Wi-Fi Calling. You should then be ready to make calls.

Apple/iOS

Once you have reached your lodging destination, you can send texts and make calls over Wi-Fi. Go to Settings, then Phone, and click "Turn on Wi-Fi Calling on this iPhone." You must do this while you are in cell phone range to update your emergency address so you can be located in an emergency.
